Do you hate food waste? Then why not join our food rescue team!
Volunteers will need their own transport to get to and from KCA's Grenada North Depot. Transport is provided during your food rescue shift in our chiller truck as a passenger as part of a team of 2. If you are a competent driver with a car full licence you too can be a driver.
Food rescue volunteers work with the KCA driver on weekday mornings, collecting and sorting food donated by retailers and food manufacturing companies. Meeting with agencies at locations in Newlands to Porirua area for partner agencies to collect the stock from our chiller truck. Transporting unallocated stock back to KCA's HQ in Grenada North to store it appropriately. This role involves a lot of heavy lifting (10-20kgs) between 2 people so you must be reasonably fit.

Do you have a desire to make a difference, to help create strong, supportive, sustainable communities for children and their families? KCA reduces waste in our environment by encouraging the reuse of pre-loved clothing, footwear, linen, blankets and general household items in good used condition. Our donors donate these items by dropping them at our various drop off points across the Northern suburbs of Wellington to Porirua. We do have some volunteer drivers who cover the Eastern suburbs of Wellington and Wellington City.
