What does KCA do Video

Located in Johnsonville (Wellington), our vibrant community at KCA eagerly welcomes new volunteers like you.

Your role at KCA is invaluable, embodying qualities of reliability and punctuality. All volunteers must be aged 16 and above, commitment on a weekly basis for at least 3 to 6 months is required. Engaging in food rescue entails physical activity, so being reasonably fit is essential, capable of lifting 15kgs independently or 20-25kgs with a partner.  Our Sunday food rescue shift requires a once month commitment.

In the spirit of transparency, it's important to note that none of our volunteers are permitted to take any donated food or goods for themselves.

At KCA, we're characterized by our size, speed, and flexibility. Our dedicated volunteers operate from our distribution hub, aiding over 120,000 residents in Greater Wellington last year alone. Through food rescue efforts, we redistributed a staggering 345,080kgs of food to various local institutions and families in need.

In addition to food-related tasks, our warehouse volunteers contributed significantly, assembling 3,909 banana boxes filled with essential stock items.

With a team of 60 enthusiastic volunteers, we're excited to welcome a few extra pairs of hands to join our cause.

During your interview, please inform us of any upcoming holidays you may have planned.

Please feel free to choose a day and time slot that suits you best.

Thank you for considering joining us on this meaningful journey at KCA!
