IMPORTANT: ALTHOUGH WE APPRECIATE YOU CONSIDERING ANY DONATION, UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE SOME ITEMS THAT WE CANNOT ACCEPT AS THEY ARE NOT USABLE FOR OUR CHARITY.  THESE INCLUDE CRT TVS THAT NEED FREEVIEW BOXES TO MAKE CAPABLE OF WATCHING TV, NO ADULT READING BOOKS, PRINTERS, SCANNERS, OFFICE FURNITURE INCLUDING FILING CABINET, OFFICE OR STUDENT DESK AND CHAIRS, BROKEN FURNITURE, BLINDS, SHELVING UNITS, STAINED OR RIPPED CLOTHING, STAINED OR YELLOWED PILLOWS AND DUVET INNERS, CRACKED OR CHIPPED CROCKERY OR GLASSES, WINE GLASSES, SPEAKER STANDS, ENTERTAINMENT UNITS, LEVER ARCH FOLDERS, BBQS, INSULATION, POLYSTRYENE,  HANGERS, CAMP BEDS, BLOW UP BEDS, TRAMPOLINES, BROKEN SUITCASES, BRIEFCASES,  NO KIDS SOFT TOYS, GARDENING TOOLS OR ANY ITEM THAT IS NOT IN 100% WORKING CONDITION AND IN CLEAN CONDITION READY TO PASS ON. ALL MATTRESS MUST BE FREE OF STAINS AND RIPS.

 Baby Items

  • Baby blankets & linen recently laundered
  • Baby monitors – in full working condition
  • Baby capsules – must not be expired.  The fabric must be recently laundered.  Find out how to read the expiry date or date of manufacture on your seat here

  • Portacots in full working condition and must be cleaned by you prior to donating to us
  • Highchairs in clean used condition complete with safety harness for safety reasons
  • Baby mobiles complete with no missing parts
  • Baby sleep sacks recently laundered
  • Nappies – both disposable and reusable ones
  • Baby baths
  • Prams and strollers in single or double sizes in clean used condition ready to go straight out to their new homes.  Harnesses must be complete for safety reason
  • Jolly jumpers
  • Exersaucers in clean good condition ready to go straight out to their new homes
  • Nappy change tables in good clean condition

Children's Books and Toys - IN CLEAN USED CONDITIONS WITH NO RIPS OR STAINS

  • Kids reading books in new or used condition
  • Kids toys in good used condition (jigsaw puzzles must be complete with no missing pieces)
  • Kids ride on toys in clean used condition and safe to pass on 
  • Kids bicycles in used condition and safe to pass on

Clothing Items MUST BE RECENTLY LAUNDERED

  • Clothing from baby to adults including corporate wear – items must be in new or good used condition with no rips, stains, broken zips or missing buttons
  • Children's underwear for under 8 in good or new condition with no rips, stains - socks, vests, panties, briefs, tights, thermals
  • Adult underwear (panties and men's briefs must be brand new only).  Bras, pantyhose, thermals and nightwear can be second hand
  • Footwear in all sizes - must be in good used condition
  • Clothing accessories - belts, handbags, hats, scarves, gloves
  • Dressing gowns in good used condition with no rips or stains

Fabric/Material

  • For our sewers to make into toiletry bags, clothing and toys

Food

  • Food – items of non-perishable such as tinned soup, tinned meat and fish, biscuits, museli bars, breakfast spreads, Weetbix, sugar, teabags, coffee, pasta,

Furniture & Whiteware

  • PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT HAVE VOLUNTEERS AVAILABLE TO COLLECT FURNITURE AND WHITEWARE
  • Please contact tracy@kca.org.nz and include in your email a photo of the items that you would like to donate, what suburb pick up is, access and your cellphone number.  KCA will then look at our list of partner agencies with clients needing these items.   Once we have found a home for your furniture or whiteware we will call you to obtain permission to release your details to the partner agency.  They will collect the items directly from you and take straight to the clients home.  

Heating

  • Heaters in full working condition - NO LPG gas heaters

Kitchenwares & Small Electrical Appliances

  • Toasters, kettles, rice cookers, crock pots etc in clean used condition.  Must be fully operational
  • Pots and pans in clean condition
  • Plates, cups/mugs, side plates, bowls in clean used condition with no chips or cracks due to health and safety
  • Cutlery, sharp knives, potato peelers, serving cutlery
  • Glasses (no wine glasses please), plastic cups, drinking bottles
  • Lunch boxes
  • Plastic storage containers - no ice cream containers with lids
  • Chopping boards
  • Radios in full working condition
  • Kitchen and household clocks for hanging on walls
  • Lamps in good working condition
  • Crockpots in full working condition
  • Heaters in full working condition
  • Microwaves in clean condition and must be fully operational
  • Vacuum cleaners in full working condition

 Linen & Soft Furnishings

  • Linen in all sizes – with no rips or stains, recently laundered
  • Pillows – must be brand new as they can’t have any bodily fluids on it for health and safety reasons
  • Duvet inners – must be brand new as they can’t have any bodily fluids on it for health and safety reasons
  • Woollen blankets in clean used condition, recently laundered
  • Blankets in clean used condition, recently laundered
  • Duvet covers in clean used condition with no stains and recently laundered
  • Curtains in clean good used condition – no mould or stains
  • Net curtains in clean good used condition – no mould or stains
  • Soft furnishings such as cushions in clean used condition (no mould or stains) and recently laundered
  • Sleeping bags in clean used condition and recently laundered

School Supplies - for all ages.  Note we do not accept lever arch folders, student desks or chairs

 Toiletries

  • Feminine hygiene products – shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer (unopened), tampons, sanitary towels, razors, soap, deodorant, bodywash, etc
  • Men hygiene products – shampoo, conditioner, soap, bodywash, razors, shaving foam, deodorant etc
  • Nappies - we do accept part open packets

 Towels

  • Flannels – in clean used condition with no rips or stains
  • Hand towels – in clean used condition with no rips or stains
  • Kids swimming towels – in clean used condition with no rips or stains
  • Towels – in clean used condition with no rips or stains
  • Bath sheets – in clean used condition with no rips or stains
  • Bath mats – in clean used condition with no rips or stains
  • Dressing gowns – in clean used condition with no rips or stains

 Wool - for our knitting groups to knit a variety of items
